Lion in the Winter

A suitably maudlin compilation-type mix on my recently turning 56 years old.
A "view from over the hill" so to speak.
Tracklist and notations will follow later this evening if the submitted txt file doesn't get posted by then.

A compilation of tunes that I put together on the approach of my 56th birthday.
01 - Hangin' On to the Good Times - Little Feat
"We'd stay up all night trying to find the right line. We were fighting the good fight, hangin' on to the good times."
This song conjures those days when I was learning to play music and then taking the music on the road.
02 - Try and Love Again - The Eagles
"Should I stay or go, I really want to know. Will I lose or win if I try to love again"
Originally written about a guy's wondering about a girl, this song came into my life after I had given up on the music biz and, after getting into the 9-to-5 life, I was offered a chance to play again with some old friends. So the lyrics, instead of being about a girl, are all about how I felt about music and my involvement in playing. I turned in my 2 weeks notice at my 9-to-5 and began rehearsals for an 8 year run with one of the best rock bands I've ever played in.
(The rest of the songs in this mix pretty much represent the feelings, thoughts and reflections I have while looking back over my past years in this life.
03 - A Pirate Looks at Forty - Jimmy Buffett
04 - Lion in the Winter - Hoyt Axton (yeah, what he said!)
05 - Pink Moon - Nick Drake
06 - Days Gone Down - Gerry Rafferty
07 - Voices in the Wind - Little Feat
08 - In a Young Girls Mind - Hoyt Axton
09 - Lion in the Winter (Reprise) - Hoyt Axton
- - - - - - -
Thank you for indulging me on my birthday.

Happy Birthday Geez.
An obvious heartfelt mix. Not my style again, but it's obvious that this one has a lot of thought put in it. Keep em coming!
