Matrix Mix 28 - The Rites Of Matrix (42:32, 40Mb)

This one is The KLF's excellent "Rites Of Mu" with several tracks inserted inside it.
I found this mix extremely difficult to put together - it took a very long time to find the right tracks. I'm still not sure I got it exactly right. Apologies for the quality of the MP3 in the last couple of minutes, but I've never been able to find a cleaner copy of The Rites Of Mu. It's very hard to track down.

00:00 - 06:15 The KLF - The Rites Of Mu
04:30 - 09:30 Boards Of Canada - Happy Cycling

Love it! It's about time the Rites of Mu got extended and this does a grand job of it. Wonderful track selection throughout and the use of TV's all time greatest theme trune is inspired.

From a fan of the JAMMs , great job! Next stop - remix 1987. Remember the album came out as an edited version with instructions on the back on how to recreate 1987?
KLF are undervalued, and it's great to see them handled with such respect. Great job!

It's always so obvious when something has been done with love isn't it? And you can also tell when someone has been paying full attention to detail.

Brilliant. 100% keeper.

It took me some time to assimilate everything, I really love your selection of tracks, and like everyone already wrote, it's very well done. I will fit very well in my Iriver. Thx.

martin sheen

It's clearly meant to be an Apocalypse Now Martin Sheen type trip, but I read somewhere else that it is someone pretending to be him. I don't know the answer.

Thanks for the comments. Next mixes are going in different directions (true to the spirit of b00mb0x) - funk then rock.

Nice work man.
The jury is still out on who it is doing the voice.
Some people say it is actually Martin Sheen. Others say that it is one half of the KLF, Bill Drummond, pretending to be Sheen. Either is nice!

Thanks for the mix, I'm enjoying it right now.

Yours,
A KLF fan, johnl.

PS : I donated just to be able to download this!

Thanks guys :D
I'm still waiting for as good a 'lightbulb coming on' moment when you realise what you can base a mix around.

I've had this for a while, but this coming weekend we are having a spliff induced party in some woods. As it gets dark this is going on. I can't wait to take them off to the Ancient Land of Mu.......
Cheers
