love the cover, love the mix. Posted by: solcofn on May 13, 2005 01:54 AMMatrix Mix 30 - Make It Funky (66:21, 93Mb) This one has deliberately little mixing and no samples - I decided just to let the tracks speak for themselves. I had four main sources for these tracks. If you know them, then this mix will probably be a little too familiar, otherwise...enjoy. Tracklist: 01. Bill Withers - I'm Her Daddy Super cool funky crate diggers mix. Pure class , and inventive to boot. A keeper
;D Posted by: bong on May 14, 2005 09:38 AMRecognise the 'I got it come get it' tunes but that in no way is a bad thing. Another classic. Cheers Matrix! Posted by: Stu on May 14, 2005 12:44 PMJust placed another source; Tommy Guerreo's Another Late Night. Classic mix again Posted by: Stu on May 14, 2005 12:52 PMFor me, Main Ingredient's 'Euphrates' is the killer track - gets me every time. Spot on with the sources Stu; the sources for tracks 1-19 are: Tommy Guerrero's Another Late Night. tracks 20 and 21 were my idea - I've got to do something, right? Next up, back to my teenage roots with a rock mix. Thought i recognised the scratching from the DH tunes! I should have got the Air EM's but i still havent heard William Orbits so there was no chance. Real nice mix and it gives me some ideas for my first mix!! Looking forward to the rock mix.....i think! Posted by: Stu on May 17, 2005 05:15 PMAt first listen, I wasn’t sure about this piece. After a few Hearings, I put this on my “All Times” list. There are a lot of great---but not overplayed tunes on this. It’s a “My Folks, Your Folks, Me and Your folks” type of flare. At times, I wished that you had spent a little more time on transitions. You know, “Do like you do, Man” By the way, I love “all” your Covers. I see that you hold a wealth of other outstanding talents also.. Thanks for the comments and glad you persevered. Interesting...I thought this mix had died quietly in the corner. One of the reasons I didn't attempt too many transitions was because it came mostly from just 4 sources and was therefore much more of a compilation in concept. I didn't want to pretend there was much Matrix in it - it was just tunes that I really loved at the time. Posted by: Matrix on June 11, 2005 10:23 PMI must have downloaded this and forgotten to listen to it. Sure glad I did now! As you say, the tracks speak for themselves - good work!
