As the title suggests, this is inspired by and a tribute to Ross Allen's Destination In show on GLR. The boy was/is the bestest DJ on local radio and the intro is that from his final show. I hope you like it and don't mind the shoddy mixing.

Cheers

Tracklist looks great mate, will report back on the mixing ASAP

track 8 is 'living with jacko' not too sure of the artist just yet, but i have got it somewhere, will keep looking.

Tunes are great, mixing is slightly questionable but no real surprise as you have just started; overall great listening.

BTW you have used one of my tunes for a mix i have got planned Lambchop- 'Up with people' but nevermind, we are European Champions so i am sure i will survive.

Stu

Cheers for that track name, I'll amend the cover art soonest. As for just having started mixing, not really, just started mixing on a 'puter is more like it. I just slapped this together in Jam with its rudimentary crossfader thingy...

I WILL get round to mastering Traktor sometime but use DJ-1800 for playing, it's superb software and cheap!

P.S. Grew up in Birkenhead so sharing the joy!

I only knew half of the tracklist...
I like every single song you've put into it.

another birkenhead'er ;D

Posted by: bong on May 28, 2005 12:55 PM

hehe! You don't get many people called 'Juan Diaz' in Birkenhead. Merseyside reprazent! :D

Good lad, i am an exiled scouser from near Aigburth but living in Birmingham now.

I am still loving the choice of tunes, some really belters in there.

Mwude, not really, half my school were called Juan or Diaz so that must be about 400; it is as common as Smith and Jones

You do realise that neither Juan nor Diaz are my real names, right?

Thanks for all the kind words and it's spurred me on to dig out my Traktor manual and do a properly mixed one. It could be "Digitally Remastered" and sell for 25 notes with a fetching cardboard cover. Yes sir

cool tracklist and another mixer with birkenhead/wirral roots - nice one brother

Lurved the sound of the first track & the radio announcer - would love more info on this guy ( I radio announce in Sydney) - any chance of posting any of his shows - mixing needs improving (keep with Traktor) & look into T-Racks for mastering (track 4 was into the red) - sorry if this seems a bit harse but I expect a bit of beatmatching in DJ sets (unless it's a radio mix - which I think yous is) - but welcome aboard some nice tunes.

Any chance I can edit out the first track to play on my own radio show ?

HDD,

No worries; criticism is taken in the spirit which I'm sure it was meant. The point is that it IS a radio-type mix, a tribute to easily the best show on the radio that I've heard (sorry Gilles) and therefore isn't a "journey" although it could have been segued a bit more carefully. Also, some of these tracks were taped, some were recorded onto the PB and some are robbed MP3s so quality will never be that of an AIFF.

T-racks looks nice but I have plenty of tools, should I be arsed to actually use them...

As to using the first bit, go for it, not mine to give though.
