This is superb - the best mix I have downloaded from b00mb0x. That's beating off a lot of stiff competition.

The premise for this mix was the everyday ambient noise around us, traffic, planes (I live under the flight path) trains, (I work for the railways) & then it morped into the history of music, life death & philosophy & ultimately onto academic wanking.
I think there were a little to many ideas in this mix for a clean flow but I wanted something different & found it easier to look at each section as a painting using found sound sources. There are way to many samples to list & some like paint itself, have blended into it's own colour. Some of these samples are so far in the background the are indistinguishable. Like for instance Steve Reich's Music for 18 musicians has blended so much into the Diga Rhythm Band & Deodato's 2001, that you need to strain your ears to hear the one lone marimba player who keeps hitting the same note over & over.
Some of the Metamix loops were pure mathematical equations, like a palindrome, which I had never heard of untill Osymyso introduced me to it. This mix is targeted more to the plunderphonic fraternity than the bootlegers as I only included 1 boot by DazAutomatic. My very first non DJ experimental collage. A big thanks to those people I plunder & leech from Soulseek (Xraytracer), Ken Nordine & Bert Tenzer, BnR & of course b00mb0x.

Oh .....this mix was also inspired by Paul Morley's book "Word and Music" - the book that inspired DJ Food's 2nd mix of Raiding the 20th Century - search for it on google - makes for a great read.

HDD, you are a class apart with this sort of stuff' Love all of your mixes but this is up there with the Death of Ringo as a near masterpiece. That's a hell of a sound library you must have! thanks

Thanks Hidden Persuaders. The sound library spans across 4 hard drives at the moment & it is very difficult to find anything. I do a search of my h/d's b4 searching the internet. Thank you very much for the kind words with The Death of Ringo - I have sooo much Beatles stuff now - I may try for another mix. Problem is I have so many things going on at any one time, a copyright mix, a Amerika mix & a chicken mix (that's right a stoopid mix about chickens). As well as the Boots n All radio show & DJ mixes. I need another website to host all these things.

cheers
